Jeep Cj Alternator Wiring
So my wiring from the swap must be wrong.
Jeep cj alternator wiring. When reading the instructions on line for the alternator powermaster recomends one wire going from the alternator to the positive battery terminal. The voltage regulator has four wires black green yellow orange but no markings to what they go to on the alternator kind of know by the jeep tech service manual but not completely sure.

There s the white two pronged plug that connects to the top with a brown wire going back through the harness and a red wire with a loop on the end of it and then there is the big terminal bolt on the back of the alternator. But i m not getting any charge from it when its in the jeep running. I would like to know if anyone can tell me how to wire up my alternator. The orange wire with the circuit breaker which is connected to the 10g red wire on the back of the alternator is going to the starter solenoid closest to the battery. Thanks 11 11 2003 04 14 pm 2.

I looked at my cj tonight and noticed that a wire goes from the alternator to the ignition solenoid on the fender and then another wire goes from the solenoid to the positive battery terminal.
1974 cj5 4 2l straight. Does anyone know the correct wiring to the alternator from the factor wiring harness from a 80 cj5 4cyl. I am currently rewiring my 83 cj7 with a painless kit 10106. 1974 cj5 alternator wiring.
As you can see there is the blue wire coming off of the bat terminal on the alternator that goes to the starter switch terminal battery side and a red wire that loops from a clip to the bat terminal then a brown wire from the clip to the ignition switch starter post as the ignition switch has a starter terminal that is not used since there is a starter switch on the floor.
